Woke up to this bad boy sitting in the kitchen in the box. The wife asked the her mom for a new one for her bday which is weird cause she doesn’t cook anything. Seals it so tight I can’t even smell it.

Just a heads up, youโre not supposed to lock it shut when youโre cooking. At least Iโm pretty sure thatโs what mine said. Not to be a Debbie downer, but Iโm pretty sure itโs to keep the thing from becoming a food bomb
No free smells? ๐ฅบ
Sounds like the wife didn’t need anything but knew you could use a new one. ๐
I have the same one. Makes the best ham roast.
Dice a sweet onion put it on the bottom
Cubed potatoes 2nd
Sliced carrots third
And a thick cut of black forest ham on top.
Cook on low for 7 hours
I lock mine when I cook because my cat like a roast as much as I do, but lacks my patience. Been doing that for like 6 years now with no issues.
The Her Mom
โWhich is weird cause she doesnโt cook anythingโ I canโt tell if thatโs a joke or youโre really that obtuse. You should thank your wife for asking for this, sounds like she gave up a birthday gift to make you happy.
Get off your wifeโs balls.
I got one of those, it seals very well…for a while everything I cooked had way too much liquid in it compared to my older crock.
TIL you should not lock the cover when cookingโฆ my dumb selfโฆ
The old buy ME this for YOUR birthday trick hahaha!

Do not lock the lid while cooking! Pressure will build up and you will end up with a shattered lid and glass everywhere! The latches are for transporting the crock, not for cooking.
