Sri lankan Onion Tomato Raita recipe

Today I have come up with one of my favorite recipes which I enjoy eating since childhood.

ONION AND TOMATO RAITA. This is, of course, a healthy and easy to make the recipe with less effort. There are so many varieties of RAITA like onion and tomato RAITA, cucumber RAITA, gherkin RAITA, etc.
Out of all these I love the onion and tomato RAITA mixed with creamy curd, coriander, and mint leaves.
This side dish is best served with BIRYANI. No matter what kind of BIRYANI it is.. RAITA served with BIRYANI would be an amazing combination.
This dish suits all the ages, even if it is for kids or adults, I’m so sure all would love this mouthwatering quick and easy recipe.
We can make this dish in just 10 minutes time and also it does not need much effort to make this fantastic dish.

Now let’s see what are the things required to make this awesome dish.

Tomatoes nutrition
Chopped tomato

All you need is,

3 onions (big)
2 tomatoes ( medium-sized)
2 green chilies
1 lime (small)
1 1/2 tsp salt
4-6 tablespoons of curd
1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
Coriander leaves
Mint leaves

Now let’s see how to make this easy peasy dish.

To start with washing the onions, tomatoes chili, coriander and mint leave thoroughly. Then finely slice the onions and then finely chop the tomatoes and also the green chilies. Put everything in a bowl and mix all together then add salt, lime juice, and black pepper powder combine everything. Then goes in the curd, add the curd and mix nicely RAITA is almost ready by now. Then add a hand full of coriander leaves and finally the mint leaves and give it a the dish is done.

See how quick and easy it is to make this fantastic dish with less effort. You can always increase or reduce the amount of lime juice, coriander leaves or the amount of mint leaves according to your taste. And if you don’t like adding mint leaves you can avoid it..

Some people like to put more lime juice and some like less.. And the same thing with the coriander and mint leaves too.
I like it with more lime juice, coriander leaves, and curd. It’s not a must use the exact amount I have shared with you guys, it’s up to you, you can make it the way like it to be.
When the chopped red tomatoes and green chili with black pepper powder mixed in creamy curd. Wow, it ends up with a colorful eye-catching RAITA and when it is mixed with salt and lime juice it’s divine. You must try this quick and easy recipe and don’t forget to share your comments

NOTE: it’s advisable to add the coriander leaves and mint leaves just before you serve in order to preserve its flavor and freshness.
