Question for anyone who has the Russell Hobbs or Black+Decker sous vide slow cookers.
Hi all. I posted earlier this year about [being frustrated with slow cooker temps ](https://old.reddit.com/r/slowcooking/comments/njyz7z/crockpot_literally_boiling_on_low/). I am still just as frustrated. I’ve started looking for a cooker that lets me set an exact temperature. Not an easy find. What I did find is some of these new slow cookers with a sous vide function like [this multipurpose one from Black+Decker](https://www.walmart.com/ip/BLACK-DECKER-7-Quart-Digital-Slow-Cooker-with-Temperature-Probe-Precision-Sous-Vide-Stainless-SCD7007SSD/245958685). Russel Hobbs also makes one (and I think is better from what I’ve read) but they’re not available in the US. I think both machines work similarly so my question to owners of them is the same:
Can I use the sous vide function to set a temperature but slow cook something instead? ie is it checking to make sure you’re using water on that function? It sounds like a really stupid question when I type it like that but I want to be sure before I buy one.

Yes, you can just set the temp when you are slow cooking
That looks too good to be true, what’s the downside?
I have the DeLonghi Livenza multi-cooker, and it has the feature to allow you to set a temperature among many other things. It’s available in the US.
