  1. I’ve never been able to successfully cook pasta in my slow cooker. I’ve tried it probably 10 times now, with 3 different cookers, and the pasta always turns to mush no matter how closely I monitor it.

  2. As an Italian man, this is atrocious.

    I know this is a slow cooking thread. Just do the sauce in your cooker.

    Try my family ricotta gnocchi recipe:

    16 ounces whole milk ricotta, drained/strained 2 hours,
    1 + 1/4 cup flour,
    1 egg yolk,
    1 egg,
    1/4 cup pecorino romano (grated parmesan)

    Hand mix and incrementally add 2 Tablespoons Flour until dough has matte finish.

    Roll into little dumplings, any shape you want, about the size of your pinky, maybe smaller.

    Boil in salty water, save 1/4 cup of starch water for tomato sauce. Mix so they don’t stick to the pot.

    Strain when they start floating.

    Enjoy with any sauces: lemon garlic & olive oil, garlic & onion butter, marinara, vodka, etc, etc.

  3. Recipe:

    * 1lb penne
    * ~ 20 ounce beef ravioli
    * ~ 20 ounce Italian sausage stuffed tortellini

    —–

    * 2x cans petite dice tomatoes
    * 1x container of “meat flavored” premade pasta sauce
    * 1 can tomato puree
    * 1 can tomato paste
    * 1 container beef broth
    * ~ 3 cups water

    —–

    * onion powder
    * garlic powder
    * cumin powder
    * basil (crushed/dried)
    * oregano
    * chili powder
    * sea salt
    * pepper

    —–

    Directions:

    Cook on high. Everything in the pot aside from the ravioli and tortellini. When the penne gets right about al dente add the ravioli and tortellini. Stir often. ~10 minutes. Turn low ~6.5 minutes. Turn off. Eat.
