It’s my first time ever making anything in a slow cooker, so I chose the Mississippi Pot Roast (minus the peppers)

I accidently bought the spicy ranch dressing mix when I made this once and now it’s the only way I make it.
Here’s the recipe so it doesn’t get removed. I did everything here except I just used the brine of the peppers.
1 Beef Roast, 3-4 lb. (1.4-1.8 kg)
1 package of dry Ranch Dressing mix (1 oz, 28 g)
1 package of dry au Jus gravy mix (1 oz, 28 g)
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup, 4 oz, 113 g)
5-10 pepperoncini peppers
Preparation
Place roast in slow cooker
Empty packages of dry Ranch dressing and au Jus on top of the roast
Place stick of butter on top
Place pepperoncini around the roast and on top
Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours
Did you add the pepper juice? Or what is the wet stuff/liquid around the meat?
I keep seeing this posted, can someone explain why the butter? Seems unnecessary for a roast.
Totally should have seared that off and gotten a nice crust on it before you put it in the crockpot. Also season that meat.
It’s not a Mississippi pot roast without the peppers
Anybody ever make this with an instapot?
this looks delicious. What is also good is McCormick’s pot roast spices that come in a packet.
This sub is for the poors
