HASH BROWNS are one of the classic recipes which would taste amazing and look impressive and also we can make these crispy HASH BROWN effortlessly at home like a pro.
This is super crispy outside and moist and tender inside. Such a perfect recipe for breakfast made out of fresh potatoes.
Sour cream, savory sauces like tomato sauce, red chili sauce, green chili sauce would go well with this crispy HASH BROWNS. You can make this crispy HASH BROWNS in just 45 minutes’ time and serve it hot with some spicy sauce for the breakfast.
Let’s go straight and have a look at how to make this crispy HASH BROWNS at home with less effort.
The things needed
- 3 medium sized potatoes
- 4 tbsps. of wheat flour
- 4tblsp of shredded cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 tsp grated garlic
- 2tblsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Here is how you make your own HASH BROWNS
Take the potatoes wash nicely and peel off the outer skin and grate the potatoes using a greater. Then take a large bowl and fill half of the bowl with ice cold water then soak the grated potatoes in water and rinse well in order to remove the surface starch of the potatoes. Once you rinse the grated potatoes thoroughly drain the potatoes using a sieve.
You can also use a cotton cloth to drain this grated potato. Just place the cotton cloth on a bowl transfer the soaked potatoes into it and squeeze tightly until all the water is removed completely. Then transfer the shredded potatoes into a bowl make sure the water is removed completely. Then add 4 table spoons of wheat flour, 1 large egg, if the egg is small add 2 eggs. Then take a medium sized onion and chopped it nicely then add the finely chopped onions into the bowl then take some coriander leaves and chop it as well. The amount of coriander leaves depends on your taste. Here I add 2 table spoons of finely chopped coriander leaves. Then add 1 tsp of salt, chili flakes, chili powder and 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder. Then mix everything well until it is combined well.
Now take a pan and add 4-5 table spoon of vegetable oil, heat it on medium flame, once the oil is heated take a spoon full of potato mixture put it on the pan and gently get the shape using the spoon into 1/2-inch thickness. Make sure the potato mixture is evenly distributed. Then let it cook until golden brown on the bottom and just flip it to the other side and cook it until browned. It would take around 5-7 minutes for a side to get cooked. Don’t be in a hurry to flip it as soon as you put it on the pan. Let one side cook well first and then you turn to the other side.
And also you can cook them by covering the whole bottom of the pan then you can cut it into pieces as required. Once the HASH BROWN is cooked well remove it from the pan and drain on paper serviettes.
Now the crispy HASH BROWN is ready to serve. Serve it with tomato ketchup or any savory sauce you like.
